Marie Jacquot opens her first season as Chief Conductor of the Royal Danish Theatre Copenhagen

On 23 August 2024, Marie Jacquot will conduct her inaugural concert as the new Principal Conductor of the Royal Danish Theatre. The programme for this concert by the Royal Danish Chapel, which was founded in 1448 and is thus considered the oldest orchestra in the world, includes Richard Strauss' Till Eulenspiegel, Mozart's Violin Concerto in D major (soloist: Noah Bendix-Balgley) and Korngold's Sinfonietta. This will soon be followed by two major opera premieres under her direction in Copenhagen: Manfred Trojahn's ‘Orest’ in the historic opera house ‘Gamle Scene’ on 19 Sept. 2024 (director: Kasper Holten) and Puccini's ‘Trittico’ in the new opera house on 20 Oct. 2024. We wish Marie Jacquot a brilliant start and a mutually inspiring time at the Royal Danish Theatre.
