We’re delighted to announce that our conductors Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Marie Jacquot will join Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden at home and on tour after a short-notice cancellation by Christian Thielemann.
Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, former Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, will take on a French programme with works by Ravel and Debussy, also featuring pianist Lang Lang. After three concerts in Dresden on May 19, 20 and 21, they will perform this programme twice more: on May 29 in Vienna and June 1 in Hamburg.
Marie Jacquot (Principal Guest Conductor Wiener Symphoniker, Chief Conductor Designate The Royal Danish Theatre, Chief Conductor Designate WDR Symphony Orchestra) will take over on a programme featuring Strauss & Brahms, perfoming it on May 24 in Paris, May 26 in Essen, May 27 in Köln and May 30 in Vienna.
