Sir András Schiff is a guest in Salzburg and Amsterdam this month. At the Salzburg Festival in his solo recital on 15 August 2024 with the title ‘Sonata quasi una Fantasia - Fantasia quasi una Sonata’ he will play works by J.S. Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schumann. On 17 August, on a fortepiano by Joseph Brodmann, he will perform Schubert's Piano Sonata in G major D 894 and ‘Die Schöne Müllerin’ with tenor Julian Prégardien in a song recital. Just last year, the pianist was honoured with the Golden Festival Pin with Rubies.
At the end of August, he will be a guest of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Myung-Whun Chung. In concerts in Amsterdam on 28 August and on tour at the Lucerne Festival (30 August), the Stresa Festival (31 August) and in Rimini (1 September), he will play Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto.
