Vitali Alekseenok to take over the Staatskapelle Dresden concert on short notice
At this year's special concert on the eve of the International Shostakovich Festival Gohrisch on 26 June 2024, the Staatskapelle Dresden will play Shostakovich's 7th Symphony „Leningrad“, a symphony of a high musical and political significance, at the same time recongised as one of Shostakovich‘s most popular pieces. Following the illness-related cancellation of Tugan Sokhiev, Vitali Alekseenok will take over the concert in Dresden's Kulturpalast, marking his debut with the Staatskapelle Dresden.
