Axel Kober’s double start into the season 2020/21

The GMD of Deutsche Oper am Rhein and Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra starts with four concerts on 16 and 17 September 2020 at Duisburg’s Mercatorhalle, in which Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra plays– in addition to Mozart’s Symphony N°33 in B-flat major – Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto with Carolin Widmann.

On Saturday, 19 September 2020, Axel Kober conducts the premiere of Viktor Ullmann’s one-act opera „Der Kaiser von Atlantis oder die Todverweigerung“ at the Dusseldorf Opera House. This outstanding work is part of a series of exciting music theatre productions of Deutsche Oper am Rhein, for which the Covid-19-restrictions are no restictions, as they were originally planned for small casts. A chance to get to know precious jewels of music theatre, which are usually rarely played by big opera houses.
