Ivor Bolton | Opening Concerts Sinfonieorchester Basel
After four years of substantial re-building by famous architects Herzog & De Meuron the Sinfonieorchester Basel returns to is own concert hall with 2 spectacular programmes.
The first programme «New World» comprises Helena Winkelman’s Einkreisung, a composition for eight alphorns, Beethoven’s Overture Weihe des Hauses and Dvořák’s Symphony From the New World, as well as Mendelssohn’s concert aria Infelice and Richard Strauss’ orchestral song Morgen. The second programme will see a world premiere by Helena Winkelman. The violin-soloparts will be played by Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Pekka Kuusisto. The concert, which also includes Brahms 1st Symphony, will be broadcast live on ARTE Concert.
Ivor Bolton, since 2016/17 Chiefconductor of the Sinfonieorchester Basel, will conduct all three programmes.
